About us

MissCall was built by a doctor. For everyone who can’t always pick up the phone — tradespeople, cosmeticians, realtors, lawyers, photographers, doctors, freelancers.

Why we exist

A patient calls. I'm in surgery, in examination, or with another patient. The phone rings, the call ends. The patient doesn't know when I'll call back — sometimes I never do.

This sounds like a medical problem. It isn't a medical problem.

This situation affects everyone who answers phones as part of their work. The plumber under the sink. The cosmetician treating a client. The realtor at a viewing. The photographer at a wedding. The lawyer in court. The courier in a car. The vet with a patient. The phone rings at the wrong moment and we miss the call.

The caller doesn't care why we didn't pick up. They care when we'll call back. And if we don't tell them within the first 30 seconds, they'll find a competitor on Google.

Existing solutions were all bad:

• Expensive virtual call centers (from €100/month, anonymous third-party agent — for a small business, nonsense)
• Tasker / MacroDroid (technically demanding, 4 hours of setup, often breaks with Android updates)
• Native phone features (only quick reply when manually rejecting a call, not on missed calls)

So in 2024 I started programming my own app. First for myself — so patients knew when I'd call back. Then colleagues from medicine wanted it. Then everyone else wanted it — a plumber friend, a hairdresser from the neighborhood, a realtor friend, a photographer I meet at the café. They all said one thing: "Everyone who answers phones would want this."

So MissCall was created — a product for each of them.

Who I am

MUDr. Radek Polacek — founder, product author. Lead doctor of the OB/GYN department at Masaryk Hospital Rakovník (PRIVAMED group). Runs a private outpatient clinic under the IP Beauty brand in Kladno.

That I am a doctor is the reason why the product was created — I encountered a problem I needed to solve for myself. But the product itself is not for doctors. It's for everyone who can't always answer the phone.

Who really uses MissCall

The app is used today by people across industries. Names are with permission, professions are real, results are their own.

MissCall is currently available only in EU member states. We are not yet expanding to USA, Canada, UK, Switzerland, Australia, or other non-EU countries due to the additional compliance work required (TCPA, CASL, CCPA, etc.). More info in our Terms →
